The undead are gathering — here’s everything you need to know before the mayhem begins!

🚗 Parking: There’s plenty of parking all around downtown San Antonio, including garages and lots near Travis Park. Arrive early to snag a good spot and give yourself time to zombify!

🚶‍♀️ The Walk Route: We’ll be making our way from Jefferson Street down to Houston Street, ending near The Alamo. Follow the horde and our undead guides — we’ll move as one creepy, groaning mass through downtown!

⚠️ Stay on the Sidewalks: Please help us keep this event safe and fun for everyone by staying on the sidewalks and following traffic signals. We want to keep the chaos organized and the city happy so we can keep bringing Zombie Walk back year after year!

🧟‍♀️ Dress the Part: Costumes are highly encouraged! Get creative — torn clothes, makeup, fake blood — the more undead the better. Let’s make downtown look like a scene straight out of a horror movie!

🔪 Safety Reminder: No real weapons of any kind are allowed. Props are OK as long as they’re clearly fake and harmless.

I hope this message finds you well, even though it carries unfortunate news regarding our beloved San Antonio Zombie Walk (SAZW). As many of you know, SAZW has been a Halloween tradition in our community for the past 10 years, uniting thousands of undead enthusiasts to take over San Antonio on the last weekend of October.

I deeply regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to host the Zombie Walk this year. As some of you may be aware, I underwent surgery earlier this year and faced an unexpectedly lengthy and challenging recovery process, which prevented me from securing a suitable venue in time.

I understand that the absence of this cherished event on Halloween weekend is disappointing, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused. I should have communicated this situation earlier, but I was still scrambling to find a solution up until the last moment.

I want to take this opportunity to relate our absence from SAZW to the spirit of Halloween. Just as Halloween is a time of transformation and renewal, so too is this year a moment for us to pause, reevaluate, and come back stronger next year. While the absence of SAZW in 2023 is a setback, I promise that we will return with a reinvigorated and even more thrilling Zombie Walk in the future.

Your support and understanding mean the world to me, and I am grateful for the incredible community that has grown around SAZW over the past decade. We will work tirelessly to ensure that SAZW remains a vibrant part of San Antonio's Halloween tradition.

We can’t express how much it means to see y’all every year. You’ve made this event so special, that it has become tradition for not only San Antonians, but people from all over the world. It was extremely difficult to comeback after not being able to have the ZW in 2020.
We wanted to take this time and thank those who bought a ticket. We can’t have the Zombie Walk, unless people contribute. Those funds go right back to the city to make this all come to life. There were some growing pains this year, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience with us. Safety is forever our priority.

We can’t express how much it means to see y’all every year. You’ve made this event so special, that it has become tradition for not only San Antonians, but people from all over the world. It was extremely difficult to comeback after not being able to have the ZW in 2020.
We wanted to take this time and thank those who bought a ticket. We can’t have the Zombie Walk, unless people contribute. Those funds go right back to the city to make this all come to life. There were some growing pains this year, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience with us. Safety is forever our priority.

The Zombie Walk Family has come together to discuss this year's San Antonio Zombie Walk. As everyone knows, 2020 has been a rough year for all. Given the current circumstances with COVID-19, we are left with no choice but to cancel San Antonio Zombie Walk 2020.

Each year, we have gathered together as a community to celebrate, but considering the amount of people that usually attend the event, we thought it would be wise to cancel this year. The health and safety of our fans, friends, & family are always our top priority. But we will remain strong. The undead shall rise again next year.
